Interests
My research interests include most aspects of knowledge representation and reasoning, especially focused on Description Logics (DLs) and ontology languages, such as OWL, as well as their application in areas like the Semantic Web and Multimedia. More precisely my recent work is focused on developing formal methods for the (semi)automatic evaluation and benchmarking of Semantic Web query answering systems, ontology classification, optimised reasoning, query rewriting algorithms and semantic approximation. In the past I have also worked in the representation and reasoning of fuzzy knowledge in ontology languages, semantic interoperability and ontology alignment.
