Biography

My areas of research bridge the domains of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, blockchain technologies, and post-quantum cryptography. With a strong foundation in academia and industry, my work is driven by a commitment to advancing the security and ethical deployment of emerging technologies.

I completed my Ph.D. in Information Engineering at the University of Wales, with a focus on cybersecurity risks in software supply chains. My postdoctoral research was conducted at Imperial College London, the University of Cambridge, and MIT. Before joining Oxford, I held key roles in the industry, notably as a Cybersecurity Manager at RBS and a Lead Penetration Tester for the Ministry of Defence.

Teaching

I actively teach and supervise in the areas of AI security and responsible AI practices. Some of my recent teaching engagements include:

Books

  • Quantum-Resistant Defences for Digital Security: How to endure a Technological Singularity event triggered by Artificial General Intelligence (2025) - Comming soon.
  • The Rise of AI Agents: Integrating Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technologies, and Quantum Computing (2024) - Link to Book
  • Beyond the Algorithm: AI Security, Privacy, and Ethics (2024) - Link to Book
  • AI-Powered Digital Cyber Resilience (2025) - Link to Book

Research Interests

My research focuses on the intersection of AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies like blockchain and quantum cryptography, particularly in developing AI-enhanced security frameworks and addressing the ethical challenges of real-world AI deployment. I also explore post-quantum cryptography and the cybersecurity and mental health risks in extended realities such as virtual and augmented reality environments.

  • AI and Cybersecurity: Developing AI-enhanced decentralised digital identity security systems and responsible AI deployment protocols.
  • Post-Quantum Cryptography: Integrating quantum-resistant cryptographic protocols in decentralised AI systems.
  • Blockchain Security: Securing digital identities through blockchain technologies.
  • Cybersecurity and Mental Health Risks in Extended Realities: Applying digital security by design for supporting mental health in virtual and augmented reality environments.

To date, I have published over 100 articles in leading journals and conferences, contributing significantly to both the theoretical and practical aspects of cybersecurity and AI. I have authored two books, with a third currently under review. Thank you for your interest in my work. For more details, please visit my Google Scholar profile.

Awards and Recognitions

In 2010, I was awarded the Prince of Wales Innovation Scholarship for my research on software supply chain cybersecurity. Link to Scholarship

In 2017, I was awarded the Fulbright Visiting Fellowship, for my collaborative research in cybersecurity at MIT and the University of Cambridge. Link to Fulbright Award
