The International Workshop on Timed-Release Encryption and its Applications will take place in the city of Oxford, UK on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th of June. This event will bring together researchers from around the world to discuss the latest advancements in the field of Timed-Release Encryption and its various applications.
During the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to hear talks on a range of related topics spanning from the implementation of TRE via time-lock puzzles to its uses in blockchains and protocols. Discussions will also cover similar primitives such as Timed-commitments and even touch on applications to biology.
The committee is inviting all the speakers, but we are always open to hearing from individuals with exceptional research and ideas related to our loose theme. We may also be able to cover some of your travel and accommodation expenses thanks to our generous sponsor Crypto.com. Attendance is open to the general public, but contact us to reserve a spot.
The conference will be hosted at The Department of Computer Science, University of Oxford. This is a 15-minute walk from St Hugh's. (Google Maps) The best entrance to use will be the E-Science door on Keble Road (Google Maps)
Registration will begin from 9am on Monday 26th June in the atrium outside Lecture Theatre B on the ground floor. The workshop will start at 9:30am in Lecture Theatre B. The final speaker is expected to finish at approximately 5:00pm on the 26th and around 3:20pm on the 27th. Coffee breaks and a sandwich lunch will take place on the ground floor in the atrium.
You can join the workshop remotely here.

The workshop will take place in the Department of Computer Science of the University of Oxford (Google Maps). Some accommodation has been reserved at St. Hugh's College (Google Maps) which is a 15-minute walk away.
The easiest way to get to Oxford from abroad is via the airports of London Heathrow (LHR) or London Gatwick (LGW). There are frequent direct busses from those airports to Oxford (the airline). Alternatively, London Stansted (STD) and Luton (LTN) are also linked with direct busses (National Express), although they are less frequent. If travelling from Europe, another alternative is to land in Birmingham (BHX) and take a direct train (National Rail).
We have reserved a few rooms at St. Hugh's College, which is located on St Margrets Road, off the Banbury Road in North Oxford (Google Maps).
Check-in is available after 2pm on Sunday 25th June. Please arrive at the College Lodge on St Margaret’s Road, where the Porters will be happy to assist you. The College Porters are on duty twenty-four hours a day, and will be pleased to accommodate any accessibility needs, with some advance notice. Should you arrive before 2pm, it is generally possible to leave your bags at the Lodge, if your room is not yet ready. Please vacate your room by 10am on Tuesday 27th June.
All rooms are furnished and appointed as a typical scholar’s study bedroom, with the extra provision for visitors of bed linen, towels, toiletries, and tea and coffee making facilities. Your stay also includes full English cooked breakfasts, served in the dining hall, where you can sit among current students and soak up the atmosphere. Free wi-fi is available in many areas of College, and the College Lodge will provide you with access on request. Breakfast will be served between 8am and 10am.
If you have any inquiries regarding the workshop, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
