Bloomberg: News Search at Bloomberg

This talk will cover how we do search, and more specifically, how we do news search at Bloomberg. The talk will cover the main differences in search between traditional search engines such as Google or Bing and then it will move to describing more in detail what's going on under the hood of Bloomberg search starting from describing what is the news stories corpus like, the technologies that we use at the index level -- and how to make that scalable -- and, finally, how we rank results in order to give our customers the best possible experience when searching for news in the Bloomberg terminal.
