Quantum Complete Boolean Algebras

Monotone complete algebras of operators (MCAs), their classification and their intimate connections with complete Boolean algebras will be discussed. In particular, the study of complete Boolean algebras is equivalent to investigating commutative MCAs. No prior knowledge of operator algebras will be assumed but some familiarity with complete Boolean algebras would be useful background.
