Yoram Rudy, Fred Saigh Distinguished Professor of Engineering, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, Cell Biology & Physiology, Radiology, and Pediatrics and Director of the Cardiac Bioelectricity and Arrhythmia Center (CBAC) at the Washington University in St. Louis has been appointed Visiting Professor of Computational Medicine at the University of Oxford. The Computational Cardiovascular Science group within the Department of Computer Science will be hosting Professor Rudy each year for one month.

The article entitled "How tech could spell the end of animals in drugs testing" features the research of the Computational Cardiovascular Science team. The article describes Oliver Britton's PhD work on populations of models, supervised by Alfonso Bueno-Orovio and Blanca Rodriguez, and highlights the Virtual Assay software recently developed with support of the EPSRC Impact Acceleration Fund.
