The Department of Computer Science is looking for a proactive and committed individual to join our Post-Award Finance team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and forward thinking team with a combined experience of over 30 years of managing university finances.
Working closely with the General Ledger Team within Finance, Graduate Studies Team, Pre-Award Team as well as other central teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the studentship projects, including ensuring that the student’s payment process is effective and efficient, reporting costs to funders, budgeting and forecasting and ensuring that funder and University policies are followed.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, have excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills to deliver exceptional service as part of the team.
The post holder will work closely with various teams within the department and across the University. The successful candidate should have a high standard of numeracy and relevant accountancy qualification or equivalent experience in the efficient management of high volume, complex financial projects.
It is essential that the successful candidate would have experience of working in a role in adherence to individual sponsor’s financial terms and conditions, and maintaining current knowledge of these. They should also have the ability to balance and prioritise their workload and make informed decisions whilst knowing when to escalate to more senior colleagues.
The post is a part-time (0.6 FTE) permanent contract.
