Grade 7: Salary £38,674 – £46,913 p.a. pro-rata with a discretionary range up to £51,059 p.a. for exceptional candidates (this includes Oxford University weighting)
Are you passionate about creating inclusive environments and driving meaningful change? The Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford is looking for an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Officer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our EDI strategy and activities. This part-time role offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in one of the world’s leading computer science departments.
In this role, you will take the lead in coordinating the department’s EDI efforts, working closely with colleagues across the department and the University. From championing initiatives to advance gender equality as part of our Athena Swan Bronze Award action plan to enhancing diversity and inclusion across all protected characteristics, your work will be central to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for our diverse staff and student body. You will also act as the named EDI advisor on several externally funded research projects, ensuring compliance with best practices and embedding inclusive principles into these initiatives.
Collaborating with the HR team, the Director for Academic Environment (EDI academic lead), and the EDI Committee, you will implement impactful projects and develop evidence-based strategies. With access to a wealth of data, such as the Staff Experience Survey, you will identify opportunities for improvement, propose innovative solutions, and engage with stakeholders to bring them to life.
